Adult Involvement Opportunities

Volunteers are the hearts and hands of the Religious Education program. Each year, parish members give their time and talent to help our children grow in the Catholic faith. Please review the opportunities listed on this page and consider becoming involved.

Safe Environment Education class along with a completed background check is required for all adults choosing to be involved in any activities listed below which involve the youth of our Parish. 

Catechist (Adult) (September-May)

Teach a class of 5 to 10 children. Choose from first K5  to eighth grade. We provide texts, supporting materials, and training. Grades 1 thru 8 meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:45 to 6:45 P.M. Grades 9th and 10th meet from 6:50 - 8:00 P.M.  PThis is an opportunity for you to share your faith with the children of our Parish.

Catechist's Assistant (Grade 7-Adult) (September-May)

Help a catechist by being a presence in the classroom, teaching mini-lessons, providing one-on-one assistance, making copies, getting together supplies, moving chairs, cleaning up, cutting out objects for lessons, etc.

Substitute Catechist (Adult) (1 hour/class)

Fill in for a catechist who cannot teach her/his class. We provide you with full lesson plans for the class. See description of Catechist for more details.

Event Helper (Adult)

Help out with select Religious Education special events such as our Family Events, The First Eucharist Retreat, Confirmation Retreat, Parish Festival, At Home Mission week, Mission Trip Fundraising, Vacation Bible School or Social Sundays. Come help set up, clean up, help with a station, help prepare food, or however you feel comfortable helping out!​ Any amount of help is needed and greatly appreciated. 

 

Door Monitor (Adult) (September-May)

Monitor the Religious education entrance door during Religious Education class on Wednesdays from 5:45 to 6:45 P.M. or 6:45 - 8:00 P.M. at Blessed Trinity. Sign up for dates based on your availability. 

Religious Education Committee (Adult) (1.5 hours/month)

Parish members, a parish council representative, and the Director of Religious Education make up this committee. The members help make important decisions for the Religious Education program regarding classes, service opportunities, and prayer services as well as provide support to the Director. The committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. in the Catholic Life Center.
